Retirement Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Director of Benefits
Location: This role can sit in any of Jackson Walker's office locations and candidate applications within those cities will also be considered.
Job Summary: Jackson Walker, the largest firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Retirement Manager in one of our Texas offices. The Retirement Manager oversees the general administrative functions and activities related to retirement plans and benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the retirement programs including 401(k) plans, Defined Benefit Plans and Profit Sharing
- Manage relationships with external vendors, including plan record keepers, advisors, actuaries, and auditors ensuring timely and accurate plan execution
- Ensure that all retirement benefit plans comply with federal regulations, including ERISA, IRS guidelines, and other legal requirements and compliance
- Lead and assist with the preparation of annual reports, regulatory filings, and audits
- Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, best practices, and legal and regulatory changes in retirement planning and administration
- Responsible for timely and accurate retirement plan funding for all plans
- Collaborate with finance department to manage retirement plan budgets
- Responsible for the data integrity of the HRIS system as it relates to retirement benefits, reporting and analytics
- Organize quarterly retirement meetings and incorporate and implement any changes or directives from the Retirement Plan Committee.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to retirement benefits and plan options
- Lead initiatives to effectively communicate retirement benefits to employees, ensuring clear understanding and engagement with available retirement resources and tools.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, ensuring high levels of service and expertise in managing retirement benefits
- Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency with human resources information systems (HRIS), Retirement plan platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate reports, and provide strategic insights
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Self-motivated, highly organized, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Strong ability to explain complicated concepts in an understandable manner to a variety of audiences
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- SHRM certification preferred.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a law firm or professional services office with experience in Retirement Plan Management and/or Employee Benefits.
Physical Requirements:
- Sighted.
- Good hearing and clear speaking voice.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
- Work sometimes requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Some travel required.
