Seasonal Recruiting Intern

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Lateral Partner Recruiting

Reports To: Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting

Location: Austin


Jackson Walker, the largest law firm in Texas, has an exciting temporary employment opportunity for a Seasonal Recruiting Intern in our Austin office. The Seasonal Recruiting Intern will receive valuable hands-on experience and assist the Lateral Partner recruiting team with the Lateral Partner Hiring Process and Integration. The planned duration for this role will be 8 to 9 weeks, between May 2025 to August 2025. The candidate will support the team with day-to-day logistics, such as scheduling, expense reimbursements, special projects, and event planning.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with daily operations and projects within the Lateral Partner Recruiting department
  • Conduct research and gather data to support departmental initiatives
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
  • Collaborate with team members on various tasks and projects
  • Attend orientation and department overviews during the first week
  • Engage in mid-program and final evaluations to assess progress and receive feedback
  • Coordinate with event venues and catering
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong execution and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism in order to communicate with Firm employees at all levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to think critically and show initiative
  • Ability to handle confidential documents and information appropriately
  • Contribute to and execute the goals of the team

Education:

  • High school senior, college student, or postgrad student (1-2 years post-graduation)

Experience:

  • No prior professional experience required; relevant coursework or extracurricular activities are a plus – experience in recruiting and event planning preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
  • Expected Work Hours – Days and work of work are Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 4:00pm in the office.
