Programmer/Systems Analyst
FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Applications Development
Position Summary: Responsible for the design, development and testing of custom enterprise applications, utilities and system integration tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work with project sponsors to define the scope of work and functional specifications for custom applications.
- Manage the life cycle of the custom application including design, coding, debugging, testing and maintenance.
- Design and develop the code necessary to satisfy the agreed-on functional specifications.
- Document, track and resolve all software-related bugs for the custom applications.
- Document, track and implement approved design and feature modifications and enhancements.
- Perform a complete analysis of the business issue to ensure that the application being requested will meet the business needs.
- Coordinate with the Director of Information Technology and other IT staff to allow for proper training, support and operation of the custom application.
- Document and transfer appropriate knowledge to the Support Center and Network Operations staff to allow for day-to-day troubleshooting task and operational functionality, such as stopping and starting the application and proper backup.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Thorough knowledge of complex automated information systems management as normally acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science or business administration; or the equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel locally and nationally via private or public conveyance to manage the law office’s technology systems.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with courtesy and tact.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone to provide information with courtesy and tact.
- Due to the time-sensitive nature of the work and the limited availability of replacement personnel, regular full-time attendance, including being available to work unscheduled overtime hours, is an essential function of the position.
- Other duties as assigned by the employer.
Physical requirements are:
- Sighted
- Good hearing and clear speaking voice
- Dexterity with hands and fingers
- Must be able to lift light weights such as files and boxes (10 – 30 lbs)
Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
