Marketing Communications Assistant

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Marketing / Business Development

Reports To: Director of Marketing

Location: Fort Worth


Jackson Walker, the largest law firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Marketing Communications Assistant in our Fort Worth office. This role supports the promotion of the Jackson Walker brand in activities involving the Firm's marketing, communications, public relations, website management, and participation in directories and rankings.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Communications

  • Draft and distribute client results, attorney news, awards and rankings announcements, and Firm-related news items via the JW website and newsletters.
  • Complete the approval and conflicts review process and subsequent distribution of e-alerts articles via the JW website and email.
  • Draft internal and external email newsletters and distribute upon approval.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to distribute content via Firm social media accounts.

Experience & Awards

  • Support the collection of client references and compile client reference submissions.
  • Support the collection of information from attorneys and clients for directories, rankings, and award submissions.
  • Support tracking and follow up with attorneys throughout the research and client reference process.

Attorney Bios and Lateral Integration

  • Draft bios for incoming attorneys and post to website upon approval.
  • Draft new hire announcement articles and emails.
  • Make updates to attorney bios as requested.
  • Produce and distribute attorney bio documents, headshots, pitch materials, proposals, and related presentation materials as requested.
  • Coordinate with photography vendors and attorneys for the scheduling and completion of attorney headshots and group photos; support the maintenance of the department’s photo library.

Administrative Duties

  • Support production of analytics for marketing campaigns, websites, email, and social media.
  • Track the status of assignments and deadlines within the department project management system.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for various services as directed by departmental management.
  • Assist other members of the department as needed.
  • Perform general office duties and administrative tasks as directed; serve as back up for primary responsibilities of other department members.
  • Assist in maintaining department files and tracking departmental activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills needed with adaptability to produce work in the Firm’s brand style and voice.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Must be adept at producing marketing collateral quickly, including ability to meet same day deadlines as needed.
  • Must be detail-oriented, work independently (but as a team player); possess excellent presentation and communications skills.
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel; CMS experience (WordPress preferred), experience with marketing automation software (DealCloud / Dispatch preferred) and basic HTML coding experience a plus.
  • Experience with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) a plus.
  • Must have basic familiarity with marketing analytics tools.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels and in all departments. Must be comfortable interacting with a variety of personalities with a client service-oriented attitude and disposition.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or Communications preferred; experience a plus.

Years of Experience:

  • One year of experience in a law firm or professional services office preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
  • Work occasionally requires more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.
